The U.S.-Angola Chamber of Commerce is the only chamber of commerce dedicated to the promotion of economic relations between the U.S. and Angola for over 15 years. The Chamber was established in 1991 with a handful of companies and now has over 90 members. The Chamber's goal is to put the private sector at the forefront of Angola's development. Trade and investment create jobs and provide many other benefits to the citizens of both Angola and the United States. The president of the Chamber, Paul Hare, participated in the negotiations that led to the Lusaka Protocol in November of 1994 and was the U.S. special representative to the Angola Peace Process from 1994 until 1998. A career Foreign Service Officer, he was also the Ambassador to Zambia. Consequently, he offers a wealth knowledge and experience to the Chamber and its members.
